Quartz pricing

Classic, Essential, Designer, Premium: what you pay for in each quartz tier

The work is the same in every tier. Only the stone changes.

Every quartz price on our site is per square foot, installed, and every tier includes the same work: a built-up mitred edge on 2 cm stone, one undermount sink cut-out and faucet hole, delivery, installation and a 2-year workmanship warranty. What moves the price from one tier to the next is the slab itself.

The four tiers

TierFrom, per sq ft installedWhat's in it
Classicfrom $65 / sq ftSelected colours: solid whites, soft greys and a few lightly veined patterns. Minimum 35 sq ft of stone. The list changes from time to time, so ask what is on it now.
Essentialfrom $78 / sq ftThe full everyday range: whites, greys, soft veining and speckles, any size of job.
Designerfrom $92 / sq ftMarble-look veining and more involved patterns, and brand-name quartz such as Caesarstone, Silestone, HanStone and LX Hausys Viatera.
Premiumfrom $118 / sq ftCambria, bookmatched slabs and 3D veining.

Why the prices differ

The price follows what the slab costs us. Slabs with more involved patterns cost more to buy, and bookmatched or 3D-veined stone needs more slab so the pattern lines up across the seams. The cutting, the edge, the cut-out and the installation are the same whichever tier you choose. The tier follows the slab, not the brand name on it, so one brand can have colours in more than one tier; we tell you the tier of the exact colour you pick.

One kitchen, four tiers

A 40 sq ft kitchen comes to $2,600 in Classic, $3,120 in Essential, $3,680 in Designer and $4,720 in Premium, installed, before HST. Your price is your actual stone area at the same rate, with no rounding up.

Small kitchens on Classic

Classic needs at least 35 sq ft of stone, counter and backsplash together. Under that, we bill 35 sq ft at $65 ($2,275) when that is cheaper than Essential on your actual area, and Essential on your actual area when that is cheaper.

How to choose

Start with the look you want, then check which tier that colour is in. If a Classic or Essential colour gives you the look, the work you get is exactly the same as in a Premium kitchen. For real examples: the Aurora kitchen and the Schomberg kitchen are Essential, the Stouffville kitchen is Designer. You can see 600+ quartz patterns in our materials library and price your own kitchen on the estimator.

Questions

What is the difference between the quartz tiers?

Only the stone. Every tier includes the same built-up mitred edge on 2 cm stone, one undermount sink cut-out and faucet hole, delivery, installation and a 2-year workmanship warranty. The tier follows what the slab costs: Classic from $65, Essential from $78, Designer from $92 and Premium from $118 per sq ft installed, plus HST.

Is a brand always in the same tier?

No. The tier follows the slab, not the name on it, so one brand can have colours in more than one tier. We tell you the tier of the exact colour you pick.

Which colours are in the Classic tier?

Classic is a selected list of colours, mostly solid whites, soft greys and a few lightly veined patterns. The list changes from time to time, so ask us what is on it now. Classic has a minimum of 35 sq ft of stone, counter and backsplash together.
