A quartz vanity top in Aurora, measured Wednesday and installed Saturday
A 36" Plain White quartz top with a splash on three sides and a new undermount sink, on the bathroom cabinet the owners already had.
The cabinet was staying; only the top was changing. The vanity sits in an alcove with a wall on each side, so the new top needed a splash on the back and both ends, and a sink under it. We measured on a Wednesday and the finished top went in on the Saturday.

Decisions along the way
- Walls that aren't square. The alcove is 35 3/4" at the back and 36 1/4" at the front, so the top was cut tapered at both ends to sit tight to the walls instead of leaving a gap to fill with caulk.
- Splash on three sides. With walls on the back and both ends, a 4" quartz splash runs along all three.
- An edge only where it shows. Only the front gets the mitred edge; the ends are against the walls.
- A new sink. A rectangular undermount sink from us, centred on the cabinet, with one faucet hole behind it.
What it would cost
Our quartz vanity tops for cabinets up to 36" start at $790 installed, or $490 fabricated for pickup, with one polished undermount cut-out, one faucet hole and a mitred edge in the price.
